Driver Injured in Panel Truck Collision Granted $1,150,000 Settlement

A $1,150,000 traffic accident case involving a head-on collision with a panel truck has been settled. 

The 76-year-old plaintiff was driving down a two-lane street in McLean. The defendant, driving a large panel truck, made a left turn into the plaintiff’s path, resulting in a head-on collision.  Police responded to the scene but did not file a report or charge the suspect. A year after the plaintiff’s lawyer met with the police, the officer filed a report but was unable to charge the defendant.

Parkinson’s disease slowed his reaction time, contributing to the crash. There were no witnesses. Before the collision, the plaintiff had severe cervical kyphosis and movement problems caused by Parkinson’s disease.

The case was settled for $1,150,000.
