Despite Plaintiff's Delayed Treatment of Injuries, Rear-End Collision Results in $950K Settlement
A 61-year-old woman in Monmouth County received a $950,000 settlement for being involved in a rear-end collision. She waited several months before seeking treatment for her injuries.
On August 31, a $950,000 settlement was reached in the case of Cannon v. Hammer for a 61-year-old woman who was rear-ended in traffic. Her treatment was scheduled during the COVID-19 pandemic, which complicated the case.
Lauren Cannon was stopped in traffic on Route 9 in Howell on November 19, 2020, when defendant Michael Hammer rear-ended her. As a result of the collision, Cannon was pushed into the vehicle in front of her. The incident caused little damage to Cannon’s vehicle, according to her lawyer, Raymond A. Gill Jr., and she did not go to the hospital at the time.
