Side Swipe Crash Results in $1.1 Million Settlement

A driver and her passenger received a combined $1.1 million settlement after a delivery truck collided with the side of their vehicle on Route 18 in New Brunswick on a snowy night.

According to court documents and a news release, Mercedes M. Mercado-Reinoso, 50, was driving her automobile shortly after 10:30 p.m. on February 18, 2021, with Jacinto Peralta, 58, traveling in the passenger seat. The two were driving south on Route 18 near the intersection of George Street in New Brunswick when  Jose B. Gutierrez-Dominguez, driving a 2018 Ford E45, collided with Mercado-Reinoso’s car on the driver’s side. 

The case settled for $1.1 million.
